This spring, students have been experimenting with HYDROPONICS! What started as a simple lesson has blossomed into a fun and educational project already yielding results.
Hydroponics is a way to grow plants without the presence of soil, but rather with water. Since soil yields many of the necessary nutrients required for plant growth, when practicing hydroponics one must make sure the nutrients are available in the water.
In addition to nutrients and water, plants also need light, air, and structural support for the roots. Our horticulture students have been working on a system that can provide the necessary environment to successfully grow plants.
Through the supervision of our Horticulture teacher, students have been tending to the plants growing hydroponically and we are already seeing results!
Great work everyone!
